The Fixie Fever: Riding Wild

The Fixie Fever: Riding Wild

It is not possible people got stuck with The Fixie Fever. Picture yourself riding a bike with no brakes and pedals that are always turning. Isn’t it crazy? That’s the life of a fixie, and I love it wholeheartedly.

The Fixie Fever: Excellence in Making Things Easy

The Fixie Fever: Riding Wild

Fixies like things to be as simple as possible. There is no need for complicated machinery or expensive gears. All that is needed is a front ring, a smaller one at the back, and a chain that connects them. It’s like going back to the basics when you ride a bike that Major Taylor would have known more than one hundred years ago. Due to the lack of a free hub, the power you use to pedal directly affects your speed, as the wheels spin when you pedal.

Easy to use and inexpensive

As compared to other high-tech bikes, fixies stand out because they are cheap and easy to maintain. Problems with brakes and gears won’t happen, so you won’t have to worry about them. Even without the extra parts, fixing a flat is very easy. Priority’s Ace of Spades costs more, but it has a belt drive that doesn’t need much upkeep, doesn’t rust, and doesn’t need to be oiled.

This is not for weak people.

It’s no secret that riding a fixie through city traffic can be really scary. Because there are no brakes, you have to change the angle at which your knees are bent in order to feel ready to stop or slow down. You have to give it everything when you’re going uphill; it’s great exercise. It’s okay if some people don’t like it.

The Fixie Fever: You can change gears on a bike by hand

It makes sense to compare fixies to cars that have manual gears. To ride them properly, you need to pay attention, be involved, and know what you’re doing. Don’t take it easy; you need to be constantly aware of your speed and surroundings. It’s a bit of a bike arrogance to think that your ride requires skill.

The Fixie Fever: Looking forward to the trip

In spite of all the problems, riding a fixie is a lot of fun. Last summer, it was a lot of fun to race through Manhattan on my fixie. We loved the speed, the tight turns, and the well-controlled chaos. One of the most exciting things about a fixie ride is how the thrill of speed mixes with the simplicity of a chain and two wheels.

Fixies are a fun and easy way to get in touch with the road. They are a throwback to the basics in a world where bikes are getting more and more advanced. People who know what they’re doing don’t find it strange that someone else is riding a nice bike with brakes and gears. Pedal your fixie as hard as you can if you think you can handle it.
